There are several different fence detection systems on the perimeter fence protection market, usually “microphonic” systems, which detect movements in the security fence structure to which they are fixed. All of these systems have different limitations.
The single point type uses piezo-electric or inertial transducers distributed along a cable, that carries the information to a common signal processor: along the way these signals are mixed with all the signals created by the other transducers as well as the noise acquired from the whole structure.
The distributed type has a single transducer for the whole security fence, which is the cable itself, using the piezo-electric or capacitive or tribo-electric effects – which requires the friction caused by the inner conductor rubbing against the outer sheath: installation is therefore difficult, as it is very likely to damage the cable causing a poor performance in the fence detection system.
On the other hand, SIOUX 3.0 achieves extreme perimeter fence protection using innovative mems transducers which, besides overcoming those limitations, allow very precise intrusion measurements detected by each fence sensor, which are repeatable and stable even in different environmental conditions, of the disturbance that occurs in any direction.
While the other transducers can only detect changes in state of rest, each SIOUX 3.0 fence sensor is capable of measuring even its static position in space.
